Asking For Permission
Do you ask for permission for everything you do in your business and life?
Most people spend their life asking for permission to do things and at the same time, worrying about whether they are doing what is right.
I can bet that these people are not really living the life that they want and desire.
So what is holding them back?
Why do most people go through life trying to do the right thing all the time.
Why are most people always feeling they need permission to do things?
If you have ever been a parent to a child or been a child yourself 🙂 , then you know that from a very young ask, you were taught that you had to ask for permission if you wanted something or wanted to do something. As a parent, you thought this was what you needed to do to raise your kid. Heck, that’s what your parents did and you turned out alright, so why not do just the same thing as a parent yourself, right? As a kid, you didn’t know any better and learned that this asking for permission stuff usually got what you wanted, when done the right way of course 🙂
The permission game continues when we go to school. We have to ask for permission for everything from speaking to going to the washroom. How much fun is that? How do you think that had an effect on what you believe you have to do to get something that you want?
This continued until you left school and were out on your own.
You thought, great, I’m free now. I can do whatever I want whenever I want. No more asking for permission.
That lasted long enough for you to get a job, have a relationship, and start your family. The permission thing started right back up for you again.
I have to tell you, it is one of the major things that is keeping you back in life from moving boldly ahead towards your desires and dreams.
Asking for permission!
If you are stuck in the asking for permission spiral in your life, always trying to do the right thing, then maybe it’s time for you to adopt a new philosophy and do something else.
Here is what I learned while in Graduate School back in the late 1990s.
Instead of asking for permission for everything you want…
Go and do what you want and then ask for forgiveness later!
That it’s it.
Ask For Forgiveness.
This philosophy and shift in my thinking allowed me to boldly step forward asking for forgiveness along the way and create a multi-million dollar technology business.
So, what are the things that are holding you back that you are waiting for permission to do?
What is it going to take for you to step forward and do it, and ask for forgiveness later?
Most of the time, the asking for forgiveness never even has to be done.
So try it out.
Take that step, that action that will move you closer to the life of your dreams and desires.
And ask for forgiveness later if you have to.
To your massive success!
